Project Description Star Wars TC(total conversion) the last great mod for red faction.
anyone playing red faction(multi player) knows that the game is dieing. what i aim to do with my TC(total conversion) is to breath new life into what is now a dieing game. My TC will introduse players to the good old days of star wars jedi knight DARK Forces 2. my tc will have both single player and multi player versions. the single player story will pick up thirteen years after the BAD ending of JKDF2 where Kyle became the emperor.
STORY in summery....
Kyle must stop his old aprentice Sariss, now the empress for the newly formed empire. before she can enslave the galixy in a Third rain of terror
As the title sagest i am geting back to work on the mod again. I am still by myself so Do not expect too much to change from the Star Wars TFU test version i posted on filefront. which btw i noticed has been removed again. I will not bother reuploading that version again as i have scence changed some stuff around which would make the test version icompatible with my current version. I will post a compleat list of all changes WHEN I AM DONE.

I have been slowly working on this mod for how long now? too long thats how long. however at X-mas i anounched i was change the feal of the SWTC (STAR WARS Total Conversion) to only allow force powers and the light saber. Now i have come to the conclution that SWTC in not realy a proper name. and being that i realy want you to feal like and all true and mighty Jedi / Sith. It's only fitting that STAR WARS TFU (somthing somthing unleashed... not realy going to say it do to copy rights, and weighting to see if that is officaly the nmae or not) Rember my mod was in the works first (as far as i now anyway) so as far as i see it L.A. Stol... err Barrowed my idea
P.S. TO L.A. No offence L.A. SW TFU looks like it's realy going to be the best SW title yet, please to not forget about up PC users, because being able to mod on the SW TFU engine would be somthing only dreams are mads of... oops wrong company
P.S again i long time ago i had stated i was going to make a comparison video of my mod to actual SW games, if every thing plans out right i will have it uploaded buy the end of next week.
ADD can change you life. i was serfing the internet looking up the rules for writing a star wars book, an expanded univers one not fan fiction. of corse the fasted growing site Wikipedia poped up, and do to my add i forgot all about book writing. and started reading about deleated sceens. and mistakes, then i found Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki and on that page i found the most comprehinsive list of force powers i'v ever seen must be at lest 100 check it outhttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Force_powers and that got me thinking. instead of having a star wars TC with mostly remodeled guns. why not mac it a strictly saber and force power fighting game. this means that i do not need gun models because the force uses hands, therefor making it possable for me to be able to finish this mod by my self. not that i want to buti just can't seam to keep people interested long enought to help me out. or if i do manage to get help i only hear from them two or three time a year ( i sure hope i did not offend the helpers that i do have )... having said that i do require one thing. what powers would, you like to see in the mod, but more imprtanly what power will work in the game. post your sagestions here http://redfaction.levels4you.com/forum.l4y?do=view&t=160510 and pleas try to keep in mind of what the red faction game can do.

thats right the check list has been deleated, do to the fact that it is no longer needed. this does not mean the mod is finnished. it just means that everything that was sapos to compleated and or implamented. is being compleated and or implamented.

my family and i will be starting a two to three week vacation starting tomorrow (19 of December) we will be travailing cross county to visit other family members. and i will not be taking my PC with me. however ranswer 3 up to date on the mod and he might do some work on it while I'm gone....... (yea right when the boss is away it's break time, i should know )
i have decided that enough perple have got the alpha version of my mod to test and critsize every little detale. and frankly i don't think i could handle any more. HA HA, any way if any one else wanted to test the alpha i'm sorry but i have decreed "that is impossable" so everone is just going to have to weight for the finial release (WHEN IT"S DONE) but hopefuly i will have a trailer out buy x-mas (maby)

the real conspericy is to stop me from making the star wars TC. how buy use of a swiss army knife. i don't know what happened but the knive sprung into a V pisition then spon around my finger like a can opener but there plain has failed. the knife didn't cut that deep. i should be back to the TC in a couple of weeks.
and the conspiracy doesn't just stop there. because with your un ability to not use your finger as a side effect you cannot use your hand on which the finger is attached because of how painfully it if to move it. which in turn will stop you from doing any thing that requires you to use two hands. this includes playing video games be it computer or console's. what is the point in this? to get people outside and talking to one another and thus making the world a more friendly place. but people by nature aren't friendly we are always looking for something to fight about,and disagreeing in a friendly discussion is a good way to start a fight. so why would they want people to fight one another. simple so the can sneak into all the government all around the world and proclaim them self to be leaders and force use to eat Swiss cheese and where those wooden shoes. I AM JOKING OF COURSE.
the Swiss army is trying to make the enter world have good table manners. How? you ask. my stopping people from eating with fingers food or any food for that matter that fingers. how do they plain to succeed. buy simply cutting off are fingers. there plain is simple but effective. first they make a knife with loads of other use full things in it like a screw driver and scissors, but the knife is spring loaded to snap back on the unsuspecting victim in such a way that it cut into the victim's fingers there by incapacitating there ability to eat with there finger. and i am one of those victims.
As every one know's i am trying to make force push for my star wars mod. and whill i have hade a few people give me some great tips on making this happen. none of those ideas woeked quite the way i would'v liked. there is one last idea i have i mimd but i don't know if it will work or not. is there a way to make a weapon (or modify an existing weapon) that will shot an invisable jump pad. this whay when the jump pad hits the player it will send them flying acroos the room. I would try this my seld but all i can do is table editing.

i'v up dated the story and will try to have it finished buy the end of the mounth. however the way it looks the STAR WARS TC will be limited to a multi player only mod, because no one is interestid in making SP maps. but what i willl do is change all the dialogs from the origanal RF sp maps to coinside with the story i have planed. for this to be injoyable thought everyone who downloads the mod will have to tern off voice sounds in game. thats it for now keep cheking in if only for the story
i'v started a new poll just to see what people like better in a mod.
P.S. i'v also activated the "BRD" (bug reporting database ) for fun mod v 1.1 i have no idea why i didn't actavate it sooner. derr dah. but whatever it dosn't matter. also feal free to report bugs about STAR WARS BETA
like the tittle says the STAR WARS TC is now at it's alpha stage. how ever i an not going to released this version to the public. reasion being there are textures that need to be finnished. i would post screenshots but L4Y want them to come from another internet sorce first and not my hard drive. maby i can perswade one of the other team member to post a few
don't you just hate it when your keep checking up on a mod only for the persion(s) working on it not to post any news.... well me too. so here is the news for all you followers of the SWTC project for RF ( all three of you ) the star wars TC is still active and will be finnished sometime between now and later........... well hopfully befor 2006 at lest
it would seam that all the team member working on the STAR WARS TC must be Government workers, because i sure as heck don't know what any of them are doing.

it hase come to my atention that fun mod would not work in single player of red faction. so i have fixed the the problem and every thing shound work fine.... i am recamending that every one to downloade fun_mod v1.1

OOPS i didn't name fun_mod v1.1 right so it won't work unless you rename it to...
the folder should be fun_mod_v1.1
the .vpp should be fun_mod_v1.1
to rename the folder and the .vpp simply right click ( or left click depending on ur setup ) with your mouse and click rename
also the you need to type -mod fun_mod_v1.1
in the blank command line under the misc tab in the RF launcher
i have made a little fun mod to my CDC just for the point of haveing fun if RF.
i forgot to add the installation procees to the readme so here it is
make a folder in your red faction mods directory called ( fun_mod ) open the winzip file and extract the fun_mod.vpp to the fun_mod folder then on the RF launcher click the misc tab and type ( -mod fun_mod ) in the blank feild and click play, and rember to have fun
oops... i forgot to add player model skins to the sheck list. the reasion i forgot was i had allready updated Ranswer 3 on this infomation befor hand....
P. S. because of canceling my Internet in the middle of a billing (pay) period, i have at lest two weeks to use before I'm shut off. after that it will be at lest one month before i get another ISP (Internet service provider) but rest assured the STAR WARS TC will continue.
for the next mounth i will be in the process of moving so i might not be able to post any news for awile. for that matter i don't even know if i'll have internet by then but hopfully some from the star wars team will post a few updates (like screen shots)
iv' learned my lesion about telling people about release dates. so as of right now everyone is just going to have to weight till i can get someone to reskin (rerap) all the weapons and player skins... i'f i knew how to i'd do it my self but i can't so just bare with me.. howevaer i do hope i will be able to release the MP part of the mod with in the next three mounths but don't hold me to it

i'v keept my word and updated the story today. and i will post another update over the weekend at some point. i would like to take this time to tell every one that i just got a new house and am process of moveing so i might not be able to keep reagaluar updates for a while. but like i said yesterday the multi player part of the mod should be done at or near x-mas (hopefully before)

P.S. what would realy help is if THQ and or volition would release the sorce code. maby if enough people (one million) sign an online petition the sorce code would be released, than all the sword combat and force powers could actuly be implamented
first. i'm sorry for the lake of news for the past couple of weaks but my 4 year old PC is slowly dieing and does not want to do any thing i want it to do. failing to conect to the internet is one of those things. hpfuly i will have a new PC by X-mas.

as soon as all the bugs are worked out with the Lightsaber i will be posting a beta multi player mod. the mod will include All the lazer chanhes to the weapon and new skin models to go along with them (not the actual STAR WARS weapon skin though). and it will not have any of the FORCE POWERS (save for force jump) do to the fact of they are not implamented yet. i will try to have some new multi player skins but don't have a hart attack if there aren't any.
i thought i'd share the single player story with everyone to keep people interested till the TC is finnished. i will be a submuting in short parts about every four or five days spaining the corse of about eight weeks.
