*Note: In beta 1.0, Combat Suit System is enabling in the level dmrc01cs only!
Is located in the center house granary, you need Geo weapon to access it, take the suit and push your use button to toggle the on/off activation.

Hi there, ...when sometimes, no news = GoOd news 
Xmod bring many news facets to Red Faction engine, it contains advances triggers systems and some technical tricks that no other mod had done before...

Combat Suit System
First, the 'Combat Suit' let you know you have it with a pickup sound and "CS Hud Icon". It max your armor to 200 and it will be possible to repair it in some location. Player can also switch the state of the 'CS' anytime he wants to jump higher or normal to access more efficiently roof or smaller entrance. When in active mode, the 'CS' will let you throw 'Grenade', 'C4', 'Rocket', 'Nuke' and 'Gas can' farther, and if you want to, timing the deactivation to reach a enemy behind cover. A looping sound let you notice the 'CS' power is on. "Combat Suit System" can also simulate a 'Jetpack'.
Implement game system like the 'Combat Suit' and new game mode take a lot of time to develop and also exhaustive testing particularly with RF client/server player info limitation and non specified (single/multi) trigger... I'm now trying to make a mode client/server synchro compatible, where the 'CS' player need to survive the time of countdown as same time is teammate protects him, after that he will be able to score.
Synchro Start System
For more complex maps or game modes that require synchronization, players will not be able to enter the game after the countdown.
Xmod Team ID key
Each team can have restriction access over specific triggers with this item, any item can also be a key to activate a trigger with this method. I wanted to give with Xmod Launch a new way to mapper to create objective, my test give me a little discovery that open many doors… I'm the first to discover what I call "Trigger - Script Name Item", but this discovery finally appear on L4Y years later in 'testing needed' by Killiad, where you can read my comment and extra info on Xmod.
General Gameplay particularity
All weapons are less accurate with there own piercing power and efficacy range. That's mean the player have a goOd reason to switch gun, use alternate fire or simply hold fire until the distance to is target is in better range. Because, the reticule is bigger and used as a guide only, players also need to take more time to perform precise shot in distance and at the same time save ammo. Traction in material.tbl are change to reduce the movement acceleration to increase tactic near obstacles. To kill an opponent the player will need to play better than him more than before, no "Easy hazard kill" and 100% accurate Hit Box! 

New Models & Skins - Players can now be 'Merc_Com' and 'Merc_Heavy' in multiplayer.
Merc 'Grunt', 'Com' & 'Heavy' have 3 skins each adapted to Red & Blue Team. Bigger models are easier to aim, is why I needed to balance there toughness. In RF, each model in multiplayer has the same life as 'miner1' that cannot be change, but I find an alternative way by changing the DMG ratio on "collision sphere". Take in consideration that some model have "RF-bug" when crouching, the head detection radius increase, they have been balanced accordingly.
Bounding box
Experience Red Faction now with 100% accurate Hit Box! With original RF settings, players can be hit between legs, each side of the head (count as a Head shot) and half upper head doesn't receive DMG.
Sound
Xmod theme music has been taken from a game I recommend, "Aliens vs Predator 2". 'Handgun' has now an alternate fire with a silencer sound from "Soldiers of Fortune 2". 'Shotgun', 'Assault Rifle' and 'Scope Assault Rifle' sound are replaced by mini RF sound mod "AK" and "Roosters Silenced" that majority of them already taken from "SOF 2". The draw sound for the 'Rail Gun' has been imported from "Red Faction 2". The unused 'Power up Damage' sound was replaced by another nice RF sound for the 'Combat Suit' pickup. Diverse sounds when a game end has been replaced by little parts of memorable RF music's.
Xmod will promote and use "LazyBan130" & "RF Server Assist 4"
I wanted first to use an old 1.30 version renamed "RF-Xmod.exe" and add on it the "GreenTeamFix & AntiServerCrashFix"... In the end, I keep the "LazyBan130", even when I have a mod shortcut, because is already known, used and we can combine it with "RF Server Assist 4" for dedicated server. RFSA 4 cannot locate other exe file, and is one more task to set for the user anyway. For RF fans that run dedicated server, I wanted to let this tools in there hands with Xmod. The latest LazyBan have also more update fix and stability. Finally, LazyBan have clearly more advantage than "RF-Xmod.exe", except the only little thing, the name is less official than "Version 1.30" in the game browser 
Note: Don't be worry, the Xmod Install/Uninstall file add the latest "LazyBan130" and doesn't remove it for player already choose the goOd decision to play without cheaters. Please!!! For everyone that wants to make an Xmod dedicated server, run "RFSA 4" and always keep the "LazyBan130" enable. For every player, just use the Xmod shortcut. Simple, easy and cheaters free... 
Xmod finally adopt "Team Speak" voice program
Ventrilo have been left behind because the free version only supports 8 players at the time, instead of 100 for "Team Speak". The configuration for now has the "Xmod Voice Lobby", "Official Xmod Server" with sub channel "Team Blue" and "Team Red". By time, I will put extra preset channel to let Xmod community host game with voice. Xmod Installer will give a "Team Speak" keyboard preset to import, to be sure everyone have same shortcuts to change channel in-game.

Red Faction Retail Maps - Xmod version:
I didn't want people play, join & host original map without Xmod setting in low gravity, grab wrong ammo, non usable 'AMP' & 'Detonator' without C4 charge, play without the 'riot shield', in short,... Keep the mood of Xmod anytime players run it. Some maps will have bigger variation than other, later modification will also happen...
Red Faction Community Mappack - Xmod version:
"RC Mappack" is also directly added to the mod installer for a simple reason, to remove the difficulties for players to join same custom maps. It's a common problem in RF, many custom maps aren't played because people have rarely the same set of maps. I want my mod the most accessible, even for RF players that doesn't know how mod and file work… I have about ~220 maps that can potentially be implanted on future update. I repeat to all maps authors that your name will stay on your map. Some maps will be enhancing more then others and all change will be listed in the change log.
Many others details have been tweaked like; 'gogglemask' , blood & bullet hole decal, Xmod team flag, and resolve few retail texture bug that stop 'RED' to compile map.
Changes & Bugs
Health Regen:
I didn't have the choice to remove this feature, because the 'Heal' in multiplayer for client player is hard coded, ('Delta Life' with 'Heal' or 'give' a 'First Aid Kit' doesn't work).
"Capture Territory", "Destruction Assault" and broken doors (My "BrokenClutterDoors"):
Theses features will not be in the first beta, because I have other priorities to release the mod. I hope to have the time to implement other things I test, I'm not sure for the "Capture Territory" mode, but the majority of them will probably be added on update with preset Group for mapper.
Many models removed:
First, I wanted to be logic with the DMG balance and keep the mood of soldier's combats by removing all models that doesn't have armor. Second wave of models have bean removed due to the "exit water" RF release bug.
Know bug:
- 'Grenade' : explosion emitter and sound are not functional when directly hit an entity (only because is no more Geo) 
- Traction bug: rarely, player can be stuck (jump to unstuck)
- 'Handgun' : alternate fire has wrong animation
- RF retail bug; When crouching, the Head detection radius increase for some model and legs have the same resistance as chest & arms.
It's sad that I can't make money or spend too much time on Red Faction, because I have many ideas and "Geo Technology" is a very nice & unique feature for an FPS. My future is in Valve engines, but in addition to others "RC Mappack", I will probably continue to build "FastMaps" after Xmod being beta public, and no one know, maybe have fun later in "Red Faction 3".

Hi everyone 
I give you some news, to show that my Xmod, will one day appear on L4Y... 1st April, is not voluntary 
I will probably launch my mod with just 1 of my map, because i want to have fun with it I would like also to give a little mappack of various maps of the comunity i modified (most of the time, put better Geo, put more obstacles, or simply have fun with my Xmod settings). Dont be affraid designer, your name will stay on your map 
About the 1st map:
*CTF-X01 ~ Safety Flag
The basic goal is to hack the control room to open a giant safety to get the flag. The big safety have a room in the center, where you can desable the forcefield protection around the flag on top of this room. You can be traped in and evade it by few way. Each team have more control over trigger in there base, like; the big safety, doors, special like a gas defence in the control room. Because the opposite team can hold the enemy control room to access trigger they cant normaly activate, like; doors and the elevator in the safety to get out of it.
Xmod Features:
- All Weapons now have a specific multiplayer velocity for bullets and we can also see thems 
- The gravity is also on bullets
(if lag happen after Xmod testing i will probably put the gravity just for sniper)
- Riot_Shield is more effective to block bullets
- I change other few things that i dont want to bother you like; Machine Pistol now have is hone ammo...
In case you have a clue:
- If someone know if is possible to activate the precision of the weapon like the single player (the more you shoot fast the less your aiming is good...)

Here's the first news and description of Xmod in 1st April 2005. It was moved below for a better presentation.
Hi all 
First, Xmod is not a total conversion, but a focused tweaking mod to attempt to make RF again better in all way possible. I mean by this, no change for weapons and characters models. But Xmod will have many addition including; import Clutter and Red technique to give each map various objectives. We all know, that we cannot change everything with RF, but i changed what i thinked better with all RED possibility.
RED Maps Features:
- Various mode like Capture Territory/Assault/secondary objectives before get the flag, like: destroy Clutter or deactivate security system.
- Distinctive trigger per team to accces some specials features in there base, like;
(security door/trap/Jumppad/other game mecanism)
- Broken doors (My "BrokenClutterDoors")
.TBL change:
- Gravity is now Earth not Mars
- Traction in material.tbl are change to reduce the movement acceleration (realism)
- The Reticle is bigger and used as a guide only (is black and white contrast to see everywhere)
- All guns now have a specific Piercing Power
- All weapons have less aim precision and Max ammo
- Most of the weapons have a little Camera shake when fire
- Riot Stick can now broke Glass to save ammo ( Can't enable secondary with this)
- Scope assault rifle: now has the scanner to enable "Spread Degrees" instead of Zoom like sniper/ and is now Burst Mode 4 bullets
- Railgun has less Piercing power
- Change the Geo radius and Grenade is now false
- Geo smoke stay longer (for fun to hide in)
- and many little tweaks like; better explosion fx for shoulder_cannon/blood splash and smoke for bullets holes changed/fire delay and ammo clip for some weapon/alpha for scanner and zoom are now at 85% opacity to see a bit everywhere/etc.
What i wanted to change 
- Max speed in MP and reduce when crouch
- No geo limit for WinXP - Direct X9
- More bullets hole decal
- Tweak damages for geo part and for glass fall
- To hear the broken glass footstep of others players
- Silenced handgun in MP
- Possibility to cancel the damm reload to change wpn
- Better LOD Distances and bouncing box !
- MP turret and vehicles
Is why i want a Red Faction 3 !!! Volition do something with GEO Technology!!! Can we have a better game title than Punisher to put GEO???
