Red Faction: Armageddon release date
Posted Feb 25th, 09:22am by Lace
Volition's third-person science fiction smash-em-up Red Faction: Armageddon will launch in Europe on 3rd June, THQ has announced.

It'll launch in North America a few days before, on 31st May.

Armageddon builds on the events of Red Faction: Guerrilla and upcoming SyFy live action movie Red Faction: Origins (it's transmedia, baby).

You play destruction expert Darius Mason, who potters about Mars making a mockery of stable buildings.

Armageddon is a different beast to Guerrilla in many ways – action takes place in linear, underground environments, and the main enemy is no longer the oppressive EDF but an alien force accidentally unleashed by Mason.

The game's built on the Geo-Mod 2.0 destruction engine, which allows players to collapse huge structures in a realistic way.

Then, for fun, you can rebuild all you destroy with the Nano-Forge's repair ability.

Ehh, Guerrilla Wars left me very disappointed. I actually didn't even complete it. I probably only played about 1% of it then I got really bored. I mean at least with Red Faction (the best one IMO) & Red Faction 2 I liked the story line. Only problem RF2 had that it didn't contain the availability to play only with others(friends). Only reason I bought "RF3" was because they had kept the tracker up for Red Faction 1. Now that they don't even own the domain name (rol_K does). I very much doubt I will buy this game. I don't know, I might just wait until it's at a bargain price. I am definitely not rushing out to get it when it first comes out.

I CAN'T WAIT for Red Faction Armageddon!! The gameplay is going to be amazing [with the new weapons and enhanced destruction]. Multiplayer is going to be God. RFG's multiplayer was so legit, but didn't live long, but this one is going to own. The storyline is going to be much more engaging and third person is a good choice for the Geo-Mod 2.0 prespective. I'm so excited!! =D It's going to be ultimate fun!

Agreed.

I do. In fact, i try new games from time to time, even though i don't play other games a lot. Call it a habit. It`s just that they've taken the RF series so lightly since RF1. They (intentionally?;O) messed the gameplay so bad, that the actuall RF community dislikes it. The one we loved the most, wasn't integrated in RF2. A lot of aspects were just retarded in RF:G(No chat, No good multiplayer(I shouldn't even start talking about this)). Although i enjoyed the singleplayer. And by the looks of it, RF:A doesn't look a bit promising at all. They couldn't succeed making a good RF game with a outstanding multiplayer, like the server lists of RF1 or BF series. This (censored) reminds me of multiplayer of ijji's Gunz: The duel. Just retarded. I think they should pass the next RF sequel(if there ever will be...) on to the developers of Battlefield. They know how to make good sequels of games. They did a nice job on BF3, imo.

P.S.: The same developers also made Medal of Honor.

Hands on with Red Faction: Armageddon

July 29th, 2009 - THQ head Brain Farrell revealed during the company’s Q1 earnings call this week that Red Faction: Guerrilla has shifted one million copies since its launch in June 2009.

Not that bad to sell 1 million copies in a month?
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

no clan frank that game actually looks interesting, "call of duty/medal of honor/etc" type games usually don't interest me much, but this one actually seems cool

i don't know what thq's obsession is with publishing games t hat have communism/rebellions theme.

the game is being created though by a unheard of company, Kaos studios, that makes it stand out a bit cause its not activision, id, or raven software etc.
