I'm having trouble spawning a character to face the correct way to go in my new CTF.
I can get him to spawn but he always faces the wall (which happens to be where a picture of a beautiful lady is haha) but I can't seem to get him to rotate.
I've done the spawn_object and when_dead.
Any ideas?
Also if you want to take a look at an early better I leave a server open called 'bumblebee map test'. You can download the map at my temporary website: http://bumblerf.sytes.net
I will upload it to the autodownloader once it's nearly done and release a BETA.
I'm pretty sure all spawned objects face one direction. North maybe? I can only recommend rotating the map if that helps.

Ahh Yes, I forgot to mention this, once you spawn the event, the direction your camera was facing will be the way the character faces. All events after that first "spawn object" event will follow suit with the same direction. The only reason you dont notice it on my map is because the houses themselves are at an angle, thus creating the illusion of rotated AI's.
Anywho, you will not be able to rotate the character... Its quite annoying. There is a way to escape this awkward error but Im pressed for time right now, so I'll finish this up later.

Ok back, sorry Ive been dealing with school for a few days, Im just trying to get back into my regular schedule.
So basically if you didn't like the direction AI's were and you want to change it, you have to go into Group mode. you want to create a new group and in this new group you want
the entire level (all object, events.) but make sure you unselect all keyframes and keyframe'd brushes.)
Also unselect all the spawn object events.
click 'Create group'
then click save group and select all the groups (so the level group, the keyframe groups.)
Next
Save them as one big .rfg file
Then restart RED
And go into Group mode, then Load the group you saved.
You have now escaped the saved direction for the spawn objects and are free to set a new direction for them.

It wont work, once you place the first one, the way your camera is facing (angled*) will be the way it spawns the object, entity, or item.

It's got nothing to do with your camera direction. It's the world coordinates. They'll always point straight ahead on the world Z axis (I'm pretty sure it's Z, haven't seen RED in a good while)
I map stuff. Sometimes.
